dude, the clockspeed is not what ever it says per core timesed by the number of cores, that is stupid

I think we can all agree that atm the best CPU is that of the intel i7 975 extreeme, whack a good liquid cooling system on 'er and overclock it and you can get upto about 6.5ghz if you try hard enough, b careful tho Cool

Depends on how you define fastest...arguably Intel 990x...if you overclock it then prob, but always depends on which test you run...see here:

And thus is the complexity of defining the fastest processor....for PCs or servers, clock speed, MIPS or FLOPS?
interesting the POWER7 is built using 45nm

it is 250 miles up and takes 90 minutes for a complete circuit

but Voyager 1 is actually still the fastest at 17 km/s (38000 MPH)
