I have a Gateway mx6124 and want to upgrade my CPU. I am not sure if I can upgrade this or my motherboard MA2A.

Does anyone have any upgrade suggestions. I am really not sure how to go about selecting an upgraded CPU

Your laptop has Intel 910GML chipset, and, according to Intel, the chipset supports only Celeron M processors up to 1.5 GHz:

Looks like you're already running the fastest supported processor for your notebook.
