Hi

Yesterday just got a ordinary-looking K6-2 400 with a Cyrix III 600
Originally I want the Cyrix III only, this cpu was thrown in by the seller
on the top it is a perfectly normal K6-2 400
AMD
AMD K6-2
K6-2/400AFX
and so......
but the number on the corner of the chip is....26369
On normal K6-2 chip I've seen 26351 and 26050 only
The only chip that carries the 26369 mark is K6-III
So, does this implies that the K6-2 in question is a K6-III (may be with defective cache) or a mismade one?

yea, makes perfect sense too

intel did the same thing with pentium 3s.. turned them into celerons Smile

i remember people being pissed off about their brand new celeron actually being a 'broken pentium 3'

in economics you call it 'consumer surplus' and the celeron captured it perfectly.

Not to mention it saved Intel/AMD from wasting so many dies.
