Hello everyone!
I have this little problem here with mu CPU. I have a Q 9450 at 2.8 Mhz atm (2.66 default). The problem i have is that Cpu-z and Everest shows me only half of its capacity meaning that 2.8 Mhz will be reported as 1.4 Mhz and 2.66 Mhz will be reported as 1.33 Mhz. Now i deactevated Intel EIST (SpeedSteep), D.O.T. control si Spread Spectrum from Bios and i still have the same problem regardeles of the fact that the CPU is rendering video footage or not. CPU usage drops and rises depending on what it does but frequency remains the same (1.4 for 2.8 or 1.33 for 2.66) on Cpu-z and Everest.
Comp Spec : MB : MSI X48C Platinium
Intel Q9450 2.66Mhz (OC 2.80Mhz atm)
2 X 2 Gigs Muskhin - FSB 800 (working on fsb 700 atm)
VB : Ati Radeon 4870
PS : Enermax Infinity 650 W
Cooler : Tuniq Tower 120
OS : Windows Vista X64 |

Also i have 175X8 multiplier (1400) all the time in Everest and Cpu-z when i shoud have had 350X8 (2800). So bios reports frequency corecly but Cpu-z and Everest wont. Makes me wonder if something is wrong or not.

You mean GHz .
Does your BIOS have options like 'C1E' besides EIST? Try setting those to 'disabled'. Also take a look at the multiplier settings. The multiplier should be 8x and the FSB should run at 333MHz. Check settings in Windows as well. I'm not sure if this will make sense with Windows Vista but look for 'Power Saving Options' and set it on 'Always most power' or something like that. _________________ thandor.net - hardware

| I did check that in windows and its set on performance so its np there but i cant find that C1E option in BIOS tho i dont think i have it. And the multiplier shows corecly in BIOS ( 333 X 8 at 2.66 and 350 X 8 at 2.8 ) but it doesnt in Cpu-z and Everest. --------- Now u wont belive this, i unplugged the power source cable, i pushed the power button more then several times and now the CPU-Z shows the correct value of my CPU. What can it be wrong? Why is it showing me correcly after i did that ? |
