just wondering who is a sSpec collector?
sometimes hard to find sSpecs are sold in lots & it would nice to know who to might be chasing spares of the particular sSpec.
I dont call myself a sSpec collector as such, but i do collect sSpecs in certain intel families
Pentium 1 (sSpecs, Plants & marking variations) << but i think i missed the boat on sSpec part
Pentium II (sSpecs & Plants)
Pentium III (sSpecs & Plants) << socket & slots
Pentium IV (sSpecs & Plants) << only socket 423 _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

I'm a passive sspec collector - if a different sspec of a chip I already have falls into my lap, I'll often keep it, but I don't actively chase them. _________________ General failure reading disk in drive A

If it's a CPU/MCU/ALU (etc) then I collect it. Intel sSpecs, AMD/Motorola revision codes, any other variant I find of anything that I find interesting _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.

Similar here. but I rather like finding the variant of Intel, AMD, Cyrix and IBM, specially for the 486s. _________________ **********************

It's hard to stay active collecting sSpecs when eBay has turned into a pile of crap and other sources have dried up.
Anyway..
Still up on my old site, cpustack.enci.com:
- Intel 486 - Over 120 different sSpecs, I think I have a couple more to scan into my collection. By my assessment I have about 15-20 sSpec still to find.
- Pentium - Still busy quantifying it, but it looks like I have a significant chunk of all production sSpecs.
- Pentium Pro, I have a substantial collection, all but one of the production sSpecs, and over half QS/ES sSpecs - still have 10 more ES to scan into my collection.
I would like to purchase or trade for that missing PPro sSpec in my collection, its a SL2FJ 166Mhz. I have other PPPro ES, sealed boxed PPro of the same speed/cache and maybe some cash I am willing to trade with a collector who has a SL2FJ.
I havent decided what I want to keep in my collection. Probably most chips beyond PPro I'll let go. Please don't email me asking just yet, I am not ready for that yet. My advice to anyone thinking collecting sSpecs is: dont do it. I am mad and I started when chips were freely available, but most, if not all are hard to come by now. ( thanks to many factors combining together in one giant CF )
Slowly moving it all to my new site in the link below with additional info and some quick reference for you other (mad) sSpec collectors. |

I've given up on collecting all the endless Pentium flavours, so expect to see them for sale soon.
So, that means I'm only collecting stuff that there arent 9999 variations of. Call me a quitter... |

| I am a Pentium sspec collector and have been focusing on Pentium sspec quite a bit this year. 486, PII and PIII I have only been passively collecting but am getting into more. |

Hehe, same here! For most processors it is absolute nonsense
to collect the different clockspeed or revision variants.
But I decided to collect different clockspeed versions if it makes
sense, for example on PC-CPUs from 286 up to 586.
Especially 486ers have a lot of different markings,
logos and symbols so it is a real pleasure to collect them!
Exactly the opposite of having an Intel P8085A, A2, AH, AH-1,
AH-2, A2H, H20-HEAD.... oh! And don`t forget the mils and
temps and samples!!!
Suggested solution: COLLECTING BY PACKAGE
never mind what the suffix is!
So just have an Intel C8085x (yeah!), D8085x and P8085x
for example and you`re done absolutely painless! _________________ Ordem e Progresso |
