Stupid eBay which provided only one way negative feedback. I have had similar problem where buyer tried to cheat me and gave me negative. I could only leave positive for him. That stinks ! _________________ Visit ABC CPU - Virtual CPU Museum. |

Who scammed who?
Not implying anything, just I don't understand who is who...
Ebay is a shisthole, I don't get it in the US, too easy to send rocks.
Personally I'm able to defend myself on legal ground in Italy, and been successful once. Fact is, legal defense costs unless you know how to handle things, and sometimes you can go on a legal battle, and win.
Answer is: your time and health aren't an optional. Sometimes you have to swallow and sigh...
If you know thath nothing is "wrongdoing" on your part, I hope you'll be able to kick a@@. Some buyers, reading the questions they ask to other sellers (when you could still see names) or have been asked, don't understand a damn shist... people ask to seller "what do you have for my dell nnn model to sell? I want to upgrade, is that difficult?" - dude, that's trouble a mile away, and if they fail or bought the wrong cpu they'l complain.
Ok to help the needy, but no mercy on the idiot... ebay has become this.
I hate that place now. |

the seller said in his auction "Item in picture is actual item being sold "
I cannot imagine what trouble you will get .
probably because he said or imply there are much gold in them ?
but according to my experience, buyer should never believe this
as in the most case, the seller is also not sure if that is true.
Just like some sellers will claim something very common as "extremely rare" or "mega-rare".
this make me thought of rare-chips-for-U, where is he now ? _________________ My vintage CPU collection:www.cpumuseum.com

That item description part looks like its from his stock item description, take a look at his other items with feedback.. they all have similar writing.
Are you really being sued, or just threatened with legal action? Regardless, this isnt the place to find much help , other than sympathy from us. I doubt you will have much help from eBay .. their stock line is.. " We are only a venue."
There are bound to be many eBay seller forums you can get help and advice from - for free - , and from people who may have indirect or direct experience of your situation. This isnt the first time its happened for sure.
Consider your local media outlet.. they love stuff like this. Good luck. |

Hey guys,
I recieved a letter from a local law firm threatening to sue me.I was the buyer.I called the seller(local guy)before I bid and asked him if the pins on the bottom were gold plated, and he said yes.So I bid on them.I went to pay and pick them up and he handed me boards that did not have gold plated pins on them.I told him that was not correct because he said on the phone that they were gold plated,he said basically it was my word against his because I did not use email to prove what he said.So I got stuck witht he boards, left him negative and now he thinks he is going to sue me.I have already spoke to my wifes attorney and she laughed her butt off.I think its pretty funny too, just another person trying to get a free ride at someone elses expense.

Hehe, Small world, Johnny.
I bought items from this guy twice and luckily got what was pictured.
The shipping was slow and the communication was worse.

Sounds like what I went through-
Purchased an HP Jornada 820 (WinCE laptop), after verifying with seller "Is the ROM chip installed" to which he replied "Yes".
Received without ROM chip. Asked him, "What gives?" He says "I told it came without HDD"... A chip is not a HDD.
Working with him, $25 item was $15 to ship. WIll break even with $15 refund. He agrees, neutral feedback for him and positive for me (as a buyer).
I leave him a neutral, saying "Problem with item description, but resolved fairly." He leaves me a negative, calling me a scammer!!! |

when did you buy the item? Can seller on ebay give a negetive feedback to buyer at the moment? I was prompted that only positive feedback can give to buyer now, is it true? _________________ **********************

Yes the seller can only leave positive feedback for the buyer.BUT before ebay made that rule, this seller left nuetral and negative feedback for everyone that left it for him.One person left him negative stating that the product never arrived, the seller left a negative feedback in return and said "I LOST THE ITEM,WHAT DID YOU EXPECT?".
The guy admitted that it was his fault yet still left negative for the buyer. How screwed up is that?

IMO, the ebay should change its rule to be: none of buyer and seller can see the feedback until they have given the feedback each other. and some shopping webs work well like this. _________________ **********************
