Bought this a year ago via Windmiller and thought it would interest you with a couple of pics which i seem to have missed to post. Not tested yet.
Could someone english-speaking explain why its called a "Validation vehicle?" (actually spelled "vechicle"). For me a vehicle is a car or perhaps something else to transport you from A to B.

validation vehicle essentially means its a test board.
Used for testing/validating the various parts of the P4 system.
They use vehicle as the board is the way to get to validation _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Edit* I was still posting and didnt see John's post but John may have explained it better
Vehicle = a device for carrying or transporting substances, objects or individuals.
So Willamette Test Validation Vehicle basically means this motherboard is the device that carries the Williamette chip to validation.
I didnt notice all the neat markings on this board. Very cool!
I like the " Intel Is Not Responsible for the misuse of this board" |

Very nice find. I love hunting for sample motherboards.
I have an Intel VC820 sample with ES north and southbridges and three Rambus slots. Found it on Ebay a few years ago. |

Dont know. Its a blank P4, socket 423 with only a datecode. A ES of some sort. Made week 51 2000. Not a particularly early ES if you look att the release date for P4 which is November 20 2000. _________________ My collection: http://www.cpucollection.se :::::: http://www.chipdb.org Photos of chips you never knew existed. I have one of these too.
Mine came with a QT69ES with date code 015; it's ICH is a QA34ES with date code 023; the BIOS is dated 07/26/2000 (AMI graphical type! ).
The Register also has some pics of a WTVV with what appears to be a QT69ES here:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2000/06/30/pentium_4_in_pictures/
i also have a WNVV, which is a complete system, has a QRE0ES CPU, and appears to be for testing out hyperthreading.
i wish i had more time to play... |
