Just got this box from a retired colleague (Gunther) of my software-distributor (CCI Europe). - Just to make some covert advertising if someone here works in the newspaper industry:-)
When I got it in my hand I just wondered about the low weight - almost nothing.
Gunther just remarked, "remember, at that time big meant expensive!"
When I opened it, it became clear.
Lovely handmade nothing. A neat board, handcrafted wiring in sleeves. Great!
The best is: ALL Chip markings are erased to keep the technology secret.
First I thought because of the name SSW 9600 it might be something like a modem, but with that kind of connectors?
finally I found out it is a system that converted text that was keyed on a cheap PC into a stream that a Linotype Graphic System could understand.
It was introduced 1983 and costed 4500 DM (around 2250 Euro).
I am just impressed by this kind of nothing I didn't want to withheld.
Now I will try to find out what at least the CPU is, in some lightning I think I can see some figures T?...1...6.....4...2 |

Nice careful work. |

| Big case for invisible electronics. When you open the case, did you hear something jump on the floor and leave the room? |

But it wasn`t for nothing! At least I think
you`ve got a nice portion of adrenaline
when opening the case and some
experience-points!
Seriously, now we know how
important these so common markings
are for us collectors!!! _________________ Ordem e Progresso |
