This is the X8008.
There is a picture of one in the Intel Collector's Guide. It is the earliest Intel 8008. The "X" stands for experimental.

Yes, it is. If I can't buy it outright and it gets listed on Ebay, I will be taking out a loan from a rich uncle.

5 days left to try and overtake the CPUShacks collection. 1330 different chips is allot and my guess he will win! But you never know with all the Ebay snipers out there
Just a reminder the winner will get a (P PRO133 ES or a A80486DX ES) or a MCS-4 chip (C4001 or C4002-1)

hmm,
how should we count? I only list chips that differ in model number, package, logo and certain types of markings; and only CPUs, FPUs, MCUs and processor peripheral chips, no GPUs, controllers or other chips.
I have versions of chips that differ in stepping code or manufacturing country. If I count these in I have about 300 more to count... _________________ ..::morkork::..

If it is in your collection and it is different enough for you to hold onto it as another version of that specific chip, I think that counts. I know that I have some chips that have the Intel logo on them and some that are identical without the logo and I count them as two different chips.
I see your site so I will count that as proof and of course I will use your integrity on how many you have as I don't plan on counting them all. So it looks like you have the lead at the moment Borris.
In Morkork's case, I have several chips that look identical that were made in different countries. I say that definately counts! I don't think we should count the stepping code but if we did I think I might even have a chance

Man in that case that probably adds another good 100 CPUs _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

You need to provide some kind of proof. Most everyone who have posted numbers so far have a website. If you have more chips than these guys, you can to lay them all out and take a picture and give us the number. Almost all of the chip collectors I have delt with so far have been pretty honest and so integrity is a big part of this.

im not even in the running for this, but i only list one representitive of a chip on my site. unless it looks a lot different (not just different steppings/speeds) i wont bother scanning it in
so i have a lot fewer chips on my site than i actually have |

3 days left and it looks like a close competition between Borris and CPU shack.

Please pick one:
I will start another thread on the best display/storage for who ever is interested in one of the remaining three chips
