That 3 GHZ would literally smoke the XP2000, I have review proof. Unless Dell's computers are really that bad ( I never tried one ).
No doubt any 1ghz cpu would be very much comparable to a 3 ghz and below system ( with the right type of memory, video card and mobo), but I know for a fact that a 3ghz Pentium 4 w 1mb of cache will out do an xp2000 even on a bad day. |

he never mentioned anything other than the cpu in his current system, so theres no way to tell for sure.
will a p4 3ghz be faster than an xp 2000+? yes, but if the 2000+ system has 512mb or more of ram, an ACTUAL video card, etc, then the 2000+ is probably the smoother running system.
tell us what else is in your current machine and youll get a more meaningful answer.
as for the second system you mentioned, same deal. the cpu will be better, but theres no telling about the rest. |

hello
well I have never hearedof an 64bit sempron and certainley not a sempron 2600. socket 795 does not exist, it is socket 754 or socket 939. and if you want to buy an 64bit CPU, then go for a socket 939, because these are faster (FSB max 1ghz) andyou have better upgrade possibilitys later on, just don't cut your expenses on the motherboard you buy, buy one that supports the 1ghz FSB and with pci-express.
