Hi, I have 2 questions about Hyperthreading,

1: Can I disable en enable it without problems with windows?
2: do games run faster when i disable it? (because my cpu usage is only around 50% when i run a game)

System specs:
2.8GHZ P4 with HTT
512MB Ram

hyperthreading is an extension, so you can disable it without any bad side effects.

as for things running faster or slower, it depends. ive heard some things run faster, and others run slower. youd have to do a bit of research on each application to find out what.

I think that you need XP PRO or windows 2000 to get the best benefit, as these O/S's support Dual CPU's (XP home wont do this, (Check by getting the task manger and looking at the performance tab should be two graphs (Goto view -- cpu history -- one graph per cpu in task manager loaded by pressing Ctrl-ALT-Del

I guess performance of hyperthreading depends on the applications that you run. Sometimes, when I run multiple CPU-bound applications at the same time, the total utilization rate of two CPUs just added up around 100%. Sometimes, it's more than that. However, I am using Linux, maybe that would be a bit different than Windows.
