MD Athlon 64 AMD's Athlon 64 3500+
2.2GHz
Max speed 2200MHz,
Bios Version - HP - CPC - 12302e31
Motherboard - Asus NAOS.

I would like to upgrade, preferrably to a 2.6 / 2.8GHz chipset.
What are my options?

Wow, talk about prompt feedback, highly appreciated mate.
Now, quick question, I suppose the 3500+ means the Motherboard can take up to 3800 right?
This is a AM2 processor and, from what I can gather, running out of circulation as technology improves, so I'm really not sure whether upgrading the chipset is better than upgrading the whole board.
Any enlightenment would really be appreciated. |

Here I am...still struggling with my dilemma...
This time.. I've upgraded the Mobo to gigabyte...
I have 3 Gigs of Ram and a 256 triple core AMD processor on there...
Somehow, most of the applications I run on the machine still hang (program not responding) despite the cpu running at about 20 - 30% capacity.
What could be the cause of this?
Registry?
For instance... if I run a notepad file with loads of data on it... it hangs, despite upgrading the OS to Win 7 ultimate too.
Now I'm confused...
Please help. |
