Here's my real beef with applications I am running on a machine I've just made...

I've recently upgraded the Mobo on my PC to the Gigabyte Ultra Durable 3...
I have 3 Gigs of Ram and a 2.6Ghz triple core AMD II Phenom processor...

Somehow, most of the applications I run on the machine still hang (program not responding) despite the cpu running at about 20 - 30% capacity.

What could be the cause of this?
Registry?

For instance... if I run a notepad file with loads of data on it, like 12mb of data... the program hangs, despite upgrading the OS to Win 7 ultimate too.

Now I'm confused...
Please help.

Too much confusion.

Which programs are you running? Can you iterate the cause that makes the program hang?

Is the program supported by your Os?

You should check MS forums and the program's forum.

Try memtest for test on Ram, try orthos for cpu stress.

Maybe one of the components is faulty. Check if the drivers installed are the manufacturer's of the motherboard and not the general Windows ones.

Have fun testing Wink

Did you re-do the OS when you upgraded?

And Notepad isnt meant for >2MB files Smile
