Yes, the Rodan CD47 is the C4004 of the Nixie World. You wouldnt make a clock with 4, at best use one tube to switch between H H : M M in sequence. Or maybe the buyer needed a spare. If you look on the net there are CD47 clocks in HH:MM:SS format, and one dude made a couple sets of clocks and gave some away. ( years ago ) Silly man, he could have made $$$$.

Personally I think it is an INSANE price to pay. The tubes will eventually do one of the following: outgas /wear out if used/ get broken in accident ( yes it happens). Still.. if you have the money and want to spend, then it is your choice. Time on this shitty planet is very short, so make the most of it.

In my mind, the money would be better spent on an evening of lapdances and pitchers of beer, pretzels and tapas.

Hell, this planet is what you make of it.

And you can leave it (literally) if you make the $s and pay NASA.

Just how many layers of bubble wrap would you feel safe using for that tube?! Smile

Hey it's easy enough to leave but much harder to get back if you change your mind....

I'm not sure why it would be any more insane to pay 600 bucks for one of these tubes than for a C4004. It's either about 1) bragging rights, 2) the satisfaction from owning such a rare item, or 3) a sense of being a guardian of history. For most of us it's probably all three of the above LOL

BTW, it claims to be big - how big is it?

Perhaps one could use one of these Nixie tubes instead of a lava lamp or candles to set the mood for a date. And if you get enough free lapdances out of them it might actually be a good investment LOL

I guess chips are unusual in this respect - smaller usually means more valuable. Only real geeks would come up with such a silly concept - no free lapdances for a 4004 for sure, EVER

Silly money. Rolling Eyes but I guess if its a choice for someone between injecting, shooting, snorting or whatever the hell it is crack addicts do or purchasing this tube, then the choice is clear.

Send your money to me.
