Hi, i just got a replacement for my cpu. it is a pentium 4 640 and i have a question and hope someone here has the answer for it...
Why do i see 2 CPU's under hardware profiles, the 2 are the same pentium 4 3.20... and even Speedfan shows 2 bars of CPU usage. i know this is a single core cpu so then why does it show twice???
thank you. |

Your Pentium 4 supports HyperThreading, the system see it as if you have 2 CPUs.

Is a good thing, HyperThreading makes system usage more smooth.
40º is a very good temperature for a Pentium 4 640, you have your P4 very well cooled.
