SZ996 marking variations

I thought i would show the progression of markings with a single sSpec with time.

The SZ996 is a good example Very Happy

starting with
PCPU3V100 (Pentium TM)
PCPU3V100 (Pentium R)
BP80502-100
BP80502100

Cool, I too am starting to collect some of these variations since there have been some good prices on Pentiums.

I wonder if the SZ995 and SZ995 have the same amount of variations?

i presume u mean SZ994 & SZ995?

probably yes.. as i have 3 variations in SZ994 and have seen at least 3 variations in SZ995

a easy variation group to collect is SU073 BP80502133. It is a bit more subtle in its variations, but i still find interesting

iComp & i133
iComp & iPP
iComp2 & i133
iComp2 & iPP

What does the iComp text mean? It's only on some chips, not all.

icomp was a processor rating/benchmark system intel used to help people compare relative performance between Intel CPU's (sine just clock speed didnt take into account architecture or FSB)

iCOMP for Intel Comparative Microprocessor Performance

i havent seen it marked on anything other than a Pentium 1, but for reference of the what the values should be

With the help of Chook, I have moved one step closer to one of my goals in collecting... to get a full set part number markings in SZ994, SZ995 & SZ996 Very Happy
