There is this 11O1A listed on ebay (item # 180438484767) for an outrageous price - the seller thinks it might be a "pre-intel" 1101 from the "NOYCE/MOORE" company. Does this make any sense?

I saw that as well, its been for sale a couple of weeks now. I dont have any concrete evidence of what he states, but if it is true than it is a special chip.

except the name noyce/moore was only used for 8 weeks in 1968 while the company was formed.

By 1971 the name Intel was all they had

Examples of 1101s have been seen from 1969 featuring the 'i' logo

Perhaps its actually a National Semi part

I e-mailed two of the Intel Archivist's early last week and they think the same thing. The date code on this chip is way to late for a Noyce/Moore part. But they are still trying to find if there was ever a logo for NM Electronics.

The first product of Intel was the "Intel 3101" not the SRAM 1101 Wink

The big "i" on the 64bit Schottky RAM 3101: http://www.mynikko.com/CPU/img/C3101.jpg

I believe Intel never produced a IC with the marking Noyce/Moore (NM) or similar.

I knew I have seen this logo somewhere else before, I didnt realize it was in my own collection. I have it listed as an MMI chip, but that is questionable as of now. Unless I have one of those super rare Noyce Moore chips.

Cool find, Chiefish ... if I look at it long enough, squint, and take mushrooms, I have a vision that looks like "ami" LOL. But they were not supposed to have made 1101s ...

Heh heh heh I hear ya on that , but I have a few AMI chips and theres no way its the AMI logo. Completly different looking, And I have searched thru every logo I can come up with on google and still can not ID this manufacturer. But I still do not think its got anything to do with Noyce Moore.
