I've read an article about the 48 cores prototype intel unveiled this week.
http://www.intel.com/pressroom/archive/releases/20091202comp_sm.htm#story
It is said that for the 1st time, they have entirely simulated it on a SW emulator before first tape out to detect errors before making the first masks. The end of Es so ?

Nah still will be plenty of ES and bugs
A simulator is only as good as the test conditions input into it.
If you dont think to simulate a set a parameters, it cant test for them.
Many things are hard to simulate such as the effects of EMI in the system, variances in manufacturing, etc
There WILL still be errors etc _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

Probably after 2012, it is not only the end of ES
I am thinking about how to survive my chips at that time
