Have any of you guys seen this movie yet??? It has got to be the best damn movie i have ever seen in 3D in my life. I saw it in an Imax theater not too far from my house and was blown away by it with the fx it had in it.
The story line is the classic love the girl and save the world type of thing , but the 3 dimensional aspect was astounding. I was sitting in the front row of the theatre and thought man this is going to suck because i am so close to the screen only to be seriously surprised by the fact that the 3D visiuals came right out of the screen over my head and I could actually see it above me.
I looked over to see if my daughter and her friends were enjoying it and saw one of them reaching up with her hand to try and touch some water droplets that were flying around in space. icon_peace
I havent been to the movies in at least ten years because I think most of them are ripoffs for what the theatres charge you , but my wife was invited to a prescreening of it in NY city before the release and she was also blown away by it , so I knew it had to at least be good. When I first heard the name of it I was thinking the freakin Airbenders and waterbenders and junk that my kid watches on the tv Rolling Eyes , but It has nothing to do with that junk It was awsome. Very Happy

Movie was fun though

I've been going back and forth between watching the regular version and the 3D - you've pushed me towards the latter, Chiefish. Thanks!

Trust me if youre going to see it, see it in 3D all the way man. And get there a bit early so you get a good seat in the middle of the theatre. Every show around here has been sold out for weeks now and still going strong.

I paid $13 per ticket at the IMax theatre when i saw it last week. I reserved them online and just had to swipe my credit card at the gate to get in. Nice and fast , no waiting in lines for tickets. Did you see it in 3D or 2D ?

3D version is only available in English
We saw the 2D movie as not all my family members can understand 3D English version.

the IMAX version here cost almost $30 , very expensive.

I've seen it in 3D version. An impressive movie - especially the forest and the plants are very well rendered!
The story was also good - without "breaks" and "logical flaws" in the storyline, which are typical for many actual movies.
I paid 14 EUR for the ticket + seat reservation, but got a good place in the middle. Smile

Truth be known - I enjoyed "Avatar" a lot and I'm planning to go the cinema in to see it again in the near future, but I can't understand the mass hysteria about it.
IMHO the all this "buzz" around the movie is a well planned advertising campaign.

"Viral marketing" is the keyword Wink

I can understand that, I havent seen a movie in the theatre in at least ten years, But my wife had seen it before me and told me what it was like, and if you have ever seen a 3D movie before this is the absolute best in that regard, If i saw it in 2D I would probly have a different opinion of it as only being OK , and not great. I can tell you now that if you dont see it in 3D its only an ok movie.
