http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6764158308&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Auction ended shortly after I noticed it. Is it always the case that somebody will directly contact the seller to buy such things instead of bidding?

It make me feel even worse than being sniped at the last moment.

I do it all the time but I always ask them to put a "Buy it Now" That gives everyone a few seconds at it before I buy it Very Happy

Point in case: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5190844042&fromMakeTrack=true

If you notice. He has my emails to him on the bottom. I don't usually try to save money by doing this. I do it so that the person selling doesn't sell it and then I don't even have a shot at it.

In this case the auction is not what it says it is and I retracted my bid Confused

It'll pop up in somebody's website some time

I guess I'll put a bid anyway on such auction to prevent this again.

Check this out

"Hi,

I had someone interested in buying it. When I saw no one bid on it, I
assumed no one else was interested in purchasing it before the auction
closed, so I ended it and sold to him privately.

Sorry for any inconvenience."

So much for that Confused

yea really

if youre selling something, you should know that a lot of people wont bid until the last minute jut cuz they dont want to drive up the price.. so let it run for the full term and if theres still no bids then sell it to the guy who emailed you Sad

once again, ARRGGGGGGH!

someone should convince the seller to relist the chip. whatever the guy offered him its undoubtedly far less than its worth

if the buyer paid, the seller can refund that and theres no contract .. then relist!

I have the high bid Cool $10,000,000 maybe a little less. I don't collect anything but Intel but you guys wanted it so bad I figure I can use it to trade.
