Hello
Following the intervention of a very old member of this forum.
I ask myself whether stop buying.
For one year only 7 new members have over 100 post.
For my part I think we are the future of these old members by allowing them to sell their common double.
My question is should I stop buying.
Your choice will be mine
Thanks
Pascal

Before asking this question, I'd like to ask you why you think you should stop buying?

If you think you havn't done anything wrong, you shouldn't stop buying. You have to answer yourself first, not seek our answers.

Trust yourself!!

My vote - no.
imho for old collectors to sell common double is for lowly members to buy common single Smile
These chips are common today. But who knows what will be in say 10 years. I'm not talking about to sell them in the future to make a lot of money. Smile
I mean it's easy for the present to buy them but not in the future.

P.S. total posts is not the most impotrant Smile

I see no reason you should stop buying because you are helping a lot the sellers to make money or make room!

I think I see what you refers to Smile ... And I already said what I think about it.
Any elitist rule on this forum (restricting "new" (1 year is still "new" ???) users buying possibility, association of "super-collectors", locking of some parts of the forum...) will limit the growth of the community, and that SUCKS. As silice said, "new" members are "old" members future. Do you want the "Sale" section of the forum being visited by only the top-10 posters ? And sold items only be common chips everybody has ? That would happen if "anti new members" policies should arise.

No. I think the members here should support him with this poll, and say clearly that they don't agree with "anti new members" policies.

I made a post in the "For Sale" thread just before I discovered this discussion.

An addition:

If you can't compete - invent a law! The only one important thing to remember is that you should be on the winning side. Smile

It really sickens me when somebody proposes a new rule or law with such purpose. Our beloved politicians do this every day!
There are enough examples in our world - and the "first night privilege" was relatively harmless compared to others.

Take it easy.

Don't too serious for it.

If I were silice, I only ask myself one question.
"Is it worth to go on?" If yes, answer myself the reason. If no, quit.

For me, cpu collecting is a simplest thing. If do something will make me unhappy, I'll stop doing it. Otherwise, go ahead.

@Pascal

I only have one question to ask you.

Why you start collecting cpu? For money? Investment? Spenting time?

I believe your answer will give you 100% energy/support to keep you go ahead.

My 20 cents worth is don't get too worried about it. Plenty more chips/boards will come up for sale and those that "win" this time won't want them next time.

I can't remember which member said it to me, but it was good advice to "wait and you will get the chip"

So if you have the chip "bug" (that's not bad..hehe), then stick with it...lots of fun to be had and the amount of info to be gained from members like CPUshack et al just adds to the experience

Answer to bccwchan
I am electronics engineer in a great school and I started to recover processeursen 2004 for personal reasons I sold my small collection in 2005.
But I still continued to recover processors. Since 2009 my family situation and career have changed.
I continue to work as an electronics but I also created a business selling minerals so many works not much free time but a little more money.
I am happy buying CPUs with the sole purpose of raising the maximum before they are recycled.
That you know everything about my life Collectibles
Best regards
pascal

Yes, do not care much about someone's words, every members may has their own opinion about sth, maybe some are suitable, others are not.
Do not be serious Pascal Wink
Be happy and do buying if you do not want to quit collecting cpu!
Forget every things you do not like today, and it would be sunny tomorrow Smile
