PostPosted: Thu Jan 21, 2010 1:28 pm    Post subject: Question about Moneybookers Reply with quote

As some of you know, I have problems with payments (big fees for money transfer from/to Serbia)... so, trying to find better solution (until PayPal become available here)... I have found some service that looks interesting;

At their front page they say; "money transfer fee max €0.50 for personal accounts", and here you can see those fees - https://www.moneybookers.com/mbj/en/p2p/calculator/fees.pl

Does anyone know more about this company (and their services)? Are they reliable? Does anyone use their service?

Thanks

Thanks Michael, I saw Serbia in dropmenu... and that is why I am asking.

I have tried to calculate fee for example, if someone send money to Serbia from Poland, China, Germany... and it looks very good regarding fees.

I think those fees could be acceptable for buyers (and maybe comparable even with PayPal fee). What do you think?

It looks to me like banks use their (Moneybookers) services Smile and plus some fee for them (banks). Just take a look what happen now with transfer from Poland. Marcin pay 6.5 Euro (5+1,5) to transfer money to my account. (Maybe they pay the same service 1,5 Euro and plus charge us for "their" [bank] service Smile ).

It looks like banks are just agent between customer (me) and Moneybookers.

Could it be possible???

I have got a Moneybookers account.
I´ve used it many times for uploading Skype out credit.
It´s OK, if we make another trade, we can use it.

... but IMHO not many members have it.

Thank you kpt_future. Just now I have checked... fee for transfer from account to account and with example amount of 100 Euro is just 1.8 Eur.

What would be fee if PayPal is used? (it is hard to beleive that it could be less than that)
Do you have (can you make) this calculation?

BTW. I have a lot of nice things to sell... I just warming up. Smile Stay tuned.

Monebookers have lower fees than PayPal. I have registered and verified account for about 2 weeks.

Thank you Marcin. I am going to call my bank tomorrow to check if there are anything to know before i open account @ Monebookers... and if everything OK, from tomorrow it will be easier...

I think it is not bad idea for others to consider to do the same. Better fee is god reason I think...

Once more, I would like to THANK YOU for your help with my previous sale.

HI g0b. I think that PayPal is forced by ebay (they own it) and that is the main reason for PayPal popularity... but, I am sure that many people, if they have information about better fee @ Moneybooker will... think twice.

No one want to pay more than needed. Am I right?

I just was worried about their service reliability... but, regarding yours, and other guys words... they look like better option than PayPal.

Hi Hugo,

Can you explain please?

As I can see they accept most of those common cards;
https://www.moneybookers.com/send-money/faq/#What_type_of_credit_or_debit_cards_can_I_use_with_Moneybookers

I would like to know what to expect... if anything wrong... before I open account @ Moneybookers.

Thanks

The reason why moneybookers fees are low, is that there is no buyer or seller protection. So same as making a personal payment with paypal.

Also one thing to note.. you cannot send money in or out of US, so there is two moneybookers
- Moneybookers USA
- Moneybookers The Rest of the World Laughing

"personal payment" is fine with me. This "protection" looks to me like modern type of reket. (© ebay)

I will try to find some other way (AVICC services are helpful) for USA, like other guys.

BTW. You are not just collector but politician too Laughing

bit off topic >> that may all change of US eBay... from what i have heard US eBay is having to let Moneybookers & Paymate become alternative payment methods on there.

in Oz, ebay tried to make Paypal or Pay on Pickup the only methods of payment, but Fair Trading (a government department) wouldnt allow it cos it would create a monolopy.
