My question is:
does the Pentium 3 CPU support RDRAM ?
I think Rambus was insert with the Pentium 4.
Thx |

Wrong. Not the CPU supports the RAM, but the chipset! I have a Dual P3-533 EB running with RDRAM. _________________ Frank. |

LOL. Your both P3-550EB working here with RDRAM. There are even two graphiccards with RDRAM (CL-GD5462 and 5465). For example the i840 is a Slot1 / Socket 370 chipset with RDRAM support. _________________ Frank. |

I remember it well. Horrible stuff that had to be used in pairs - yuck!
Actually, I do rememebr building a few 800MHz Systems with this kind of memory, so yes, some P3's must have used Rambus! _________________ 4000+ chips.

Yes some of the chipsets of P-III supports RDRAM. Pentium III is worse performing, on RDRAM-platforms with i820 or i840 chipset.Actually P-III is not design to support higher bandwidth. _________________ acekard 2i |
