The idea of this thread is to answer the questions that you have always wondered about CPU's. Who owned the oldest chip, who has the most in their collection, what was the most ever spent on one chip etc.

Hopefully this thread will eventually be the answer to all of that. Week by week we will be running small competition threads in the forums which will be determining new CPU World record holders.

If you think you can beat any current CPU World Record, then post in the relevent thread. Any other idea's for CPU World records, please PM myself and I will consider for next weeks thread.

This post will remain locked as it is just a factual post of what has been depicted in the threads it is associated with. If you dispute any of the records please post in the relevant thread or contact myself.

Over time it will begin to look far more organised, please bear with me as we get the CPU World records started.

Thank you.

Good to see this thread started, but it is out of date. I see sammy has disappeared again? So maybe someone else can deal with this thread?

Why do you say that it is out of date ?
I've updated it with latest results...

I know the P60 is incorrect, I am not sure about the others. I know there has been some changes on the 486 as well.

OK, it was not correct for P60.

All others were OK.

JAC you didn't see I've updated a lot of things in this thread : it was missing results for P66, 386, AMD K6 and Intel 487...

I will update it when needed. The results for oldest 6x86 will be put when it will be over (next week I think).

No offence intended Mixeur! It is good to see it updated.

It would also be nice to see the youngest chip. This will be handy to see the production life span for chips.

oldest intel Conroe - 53rd week 2005
