I have gotten many emails and PM:s the last couple of months from forum users asking when the "Oldest chip" will be back... Wink So by popular demand...

Since almost all here have some Intel Pentiums we will try to find "oldest" one in each speed from 60 to 300 MHz. We have already got the 60 MHz here

Continuing with the oldest known Pentium 66 Mhz. Goldcap/non goldcap. NO Eng. or Mech. samples.

Post the whole model number and date code including lot number (see my entry). Pic is not necessary until we have a winner.

Winning chip will replace the current chip photo in the Cpu photo library. (if winner wants)

Look here for previous finds. New members, PM me if you got anything that puts you on any of these lists.

Pentium 66 was introduced week 9, 1993 (according to x86-guide.com)

Current standing:
Gold: nikko 1993 week 20 A80501-66 SX754 L3201861

Mine by the way http://www.cpucollection.se/details.php?image_id=579

Seems like they added lot numbers and icomp index between week 14 and 33 according to mine and Mixeurs chips. Can we narrow that down? More chips!

I recently acquired this pentium 66 sx754 after looking for quite some time. It is not particularly old for an sx754 but then, there arn't many sx754's out there. I also do I have an older goldcap then marcin's. It might even be a whole hour older Smile

Also, by way of narrowing the time table during which the text style was changed on these gold capped pentium 66's I have a 1994 week 29 sx837 with icomp index and such.

May be we need to move this topic to "Modern chips" forum?

There has been some comments before that these are more of a nonsense threads than a cpu-collector thread so i started in offtopic. But, yes i think it would do better there.
