It is why the NHTSA (the US Govt agency in charge of car safety) is being asked why they do not employ any electrical, computer, or software engineers

Actually, there is already 1 million lines of code approximately only for a modern multimedia navigation system, so that's not surprising...

My current car (a good 20 year old B M W) has exactly two!
One main/engine controller and one for the ABS.
And I am happy with that, very reliable car and free of
software-bugs I think!
