I decided to start a thread for manufacturers of eproms i or anyone else havent come across before
First cab off the rank is S-MOS Systems
unknown when started (circa 1982 most likely)
partially owned affiliate of Seiko Epson
then fully acquired by Seiko Epson in 1997
operating now as Epson Electronics America Inc
notable info.. S-MOS Systems developed the first commercially available single chip 3D geometry accelerator (SPC1500) for PCs.
here is a pic of one of their eproms showing the logo _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

This one is easy to work out who made it
But i dont beleive many would think of RICOH for eproms.
RICOH claim on their website that they | Quote: | | Start selling the world's first 32k CMOS EPROM in 1982 |
I know CPUShack has a RICOH RD27C32.. has anyone else come across other RICOH parts _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

Heres one by Maxtor, only one ive ever seen so far. I guess they might have used them in the old hard drives. Print is on bottom saying Maxtor and also on the core when I looked under microscope. _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." A.E. |
