I've read an article about the 48 cores prototype intel unveiled this week.

http://www.intel.com/pressroom/archive/releases/20091202comp_sm.htm#story

It is said that for the 1st time, they have entirely simulated it on a SW emulator before first tape out to detect errors before making the first masks. The end of Es so ? Confused

Nah still will be plenty of ES and bugs

A simulator is only as good as the test conditions input into it.

If you dont think to simulate a set a parameters, it cant test for them.
Many things are hard to simulate such as the effects of EMI in the system, variances in manufacturing, etc

There WILL still be errors etc

This 48 core cpu IS an ES... The fact that it has been simlated before changes nothing for ES.
Maybe a little for QS, but not that much like John said.

Probably after 2012, it is not only the end of ES Mad
I am thinking about how to survive my chips at that time
