This chip didn't sell on ebay, but I am interested if anyone has any idea of its use.
seemly about 100 x 100mm square and has an unusual pin arrangement on the bottom _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:

It is just a blank, right? No die attached...and pads go right to edge (without pins). Some custom part?? _________________ My former Intel collection:

If the quadratic area in the middle of the top
is the pad-matrix for the chipdie I would say
its an unfinished gate array chip...
Strange (finished) stuff like this can sometimes be
found in supercomputers and other special
high-end computers. A real pity that there is no
hint on the chip who the manufacturer is. _________________ Ordem e Progresso |

Stu, you forgot to mention that the chip weights 0.8 lb. That's like 4 Pentium Pros.
