Does anyone here have any pictures of a R8086 either of thier own or someone elses, I have tried googling it and cant come up with any. It looks like a pretty unique package for a 8086 chip. Thanks in advance. _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." A.E. |

A chip named MR8086, which is for the military temperature range, exists.
It should look like Harris's MR80C86 or IR80C86.
I do not think that R8086 exists.

Oh yea it exists, ill scan it and post some better pics in a couple of days. But heres the only pic I have seen of one so far.
Its a nice salesmen set from an old retired Intel salesman. All 4 top chips are ESs too along with some very nice mil spec chips.
And Happy Birthday Smithy _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." A.E. |

Very nice finding!
I was surprised to know that R8086 exists. Surely it is much more uncommon than MR8086.
But is there also a production version?

| Darn it - I saw it one minute, and then it was gone a little while later. At least it found a good home! |

Well after the post office decided to foward this package to some other address other then mine, I have finally tracked it down and have it at my house.
My wife knows what I have been going thru to find this box and knew she should call me at work to let me know its there in great shape and all.
So tonight ill scan all of them and post up some hi res pics for us all to drool over. Man I am one happy chip collector today, i dont think anything is going to wipe the smile off of my face _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." A.E. |

Brilliant!
Is there any reason for 44 connectors? Or are the four extras unused?
... just remember the 42 pin amd2901 or the russian flat 8080 clone which had also two extra pins. _________________ You may use the photos I have posted here under CC BY-NC-SA license. |

44 pins was a standard package, and 40 (for CLCC) wasnt.
Extra contacts provided a better mechanical contact as well.
You also see this in say a Motorola 68000, 64PDIP, vs 68PLCC _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!
