For collection I prefer older non-CMOS microcontrollers from MCS-48 and MCS-51 families, especially if they are in white or purple ceramic packages. All newer microcontrollers look too boring - there are too many of them, and they are all in plastic DIP/PLCC/QFP...

Very nice!
I have a 8752 by NS as a CDIP-40 and one as CDIP-48,
both purple/gold w. tin pins.
Any Idea why there are different pin counts? |
