you are not going to open them do you ?
I knew boxed co-processors existed, but what about boxed 486, 386 or even 286 !! is it possible ? _________________ A computer without Windows is like a chocolate cake without mustard.

I won't open them, although it's very interesting to see what's inside.

I never seen boxed 286, 386 or 486 processors except for upgrade/overdrive CPUs.

Although I haven't seen one, I think that the 486 chips with the blue heat sinks on them might have been boxed processors. Any thoughts?
I've never seen any Intel 386 or older CPUs boxed either. |

Nice to see some boxes! I'd like to see more of them, why not make a 'show your boxes' thread? I only got two:
Intel 287XL front back
Intel Pentium MMX Overdrive front back _________________ ..::morkork::..

They were making them after 1985. The 8087 box above has the date 11/15/1989 , the processor inside was also made in 1989.

My bad... I didn't see that date on the box. Wow, that's surprising. _________________

I really like this IIT package, looks really futuristic
I have one of these Am80c287 chips too, in an original box which unfortunatelly was already opened. But the chip inside the package is in a little plastic box which has a black back, transparent front with golden 'Advanced Micro Devices. Inc.' letters. This little box is still sealed and looks really beautyfull - I surely won't open it

Grampa,
Can you post a picture of the small sealed box?
