Would a 1.7v processor work in place of a 1.5v one

It depends, read your motherboard manual. If the mobo does not support this voltage, than what are we talking about?

the issue is i can't find info about my motherboard anywayz i put a 1.7 in it and i turn it on i can hear the fan spinning but in like 5 sec it shuts off,nothing on the screen......i guess it doesn;t support it

You might need to set some jumper on the mobo Smile

Well, probably it doesn't.
