Hi, I have a Compaq presario 5000 with a HP-Compaq 06E4h mother board Bios version 786K1. It currently has a 750 MHZ Duron processor FSB200, I want to upgrade to a 1400 AMD Athlon processor (this is as high as I can go). I think an A1400AMS3B is what I need, is there some way to confirm this? Additionally can I just reuse my existing Heatsink and fan or do they need to be upgraded too?

| The 1400 Athlon did not boot this MB. In MB setup it said CPU multiplier was 0 x 100 mhz. This CPU is to fast to recognise running with 133 SDram/100 SDram mix. I reverted back to a 900 Duron and it works great. |
