I saw this CPU described as ES ... My first reaction was to write the seller a message explaining that he is wrong, the CPU is not an ES just a normal commercial CPU... But i checked his other sales and are many and all vintage computer related...

Do you thing he's wrong or its a fraud?

I have messaged him to explain his mistake and tell him how to identify real ES chips. If more of you message him as well he should take notice. If he doesn't then it might be good to report the listing Smile

I don't think it's a fraud, I would do the same auction description )
Isn't ES short from "Engineering Sample" ?
If it's not, then what is it stand for in this case ?

What was his reply? If he changes them then it would be just a mistake but if he doesn't then it's fraud.

He did sell a lot of vintage hardware but not CPU specifically.
Only CPU collectors know what does that "ES" means.
Some junior collectors may be mis-leaded by that "ES" as well.

I actually saw this quiet often on ebay, by different sellers, mark that kind of ES as Engineering Sample.
