Er... What happened to the rest of the calculator? The valuable part was the Nixie tube display.

Here'ss a picture of my favorite calculator with tubes (i have about 10 old calculators)



The chip is a Mostek MK-6010 (the first one chip calculator)

are all the calcs up on a website?

I noticed some people cleaning up in the calculator cats.. old calculators going for very little as there are not many bidders.

I dont bother collecting calculators .. the HP85 is a nice machine though Smile .. you wouldnt happen to have a memory disk for one of those would you? Smile

Nope, way too much work. Between my chip, computer, calculator, etc. collections I've got about 160 gigs of photos, scans, and other related material. I guess you might say I'm a pack rat. Smile

Depends on the calculator... A lot of the late-'60s desktop units can fetch a pretty penny, as well as some of the earlier handhelds:

At one time I had an entire HP-85. Wasted countless hours playing "Hunt the Wumpus" on it. Wink It had a tape drive built-in, so I didn't have much need for an external disk drive.

yeah.. its the tape drive I need.. not for use, as I suspect the original magnetic media has deteriorated beyond use. I have plenty of paper Smile
