| I'm a noob when it comes to hardware, I'm more the software type. but anyways. I'm trying to upgrade my chip so that I can play a game. All I know though is that I've a Socket A chaintech ct-7njl5 mother board. My current processer is AMD Athlon(tm)XP 1.29 GHz. I've 1.5 Gig RAM. I'm not sure which chip my motherboard can/will upgrade, and if it'd be enough for my game. game require is3 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or higher. Can any one give me some info as to what I need to do? ty |

Buy a modern motherboard/CPU/RAM/video card............ _________________ "Have you scanned the RAM timings for Operator's Headspace?? Too much real estate between the audio collectors will block the connection which allows proper operation of your computer."_Cobra

I can't find a reference anywhere to the 7NJL5, but others in the 7NJL series support the Athlon XP. No reference I found states a maximum speed, but the fastest Athlon XP (and the fastest Socket A processor) is Athlon XP 3200+. This runs at 2200MHz and has a rated speed of 3200+. More complete information on the XP processors is at:
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K7/TYPE-Athlon%20XP.html
The 3200+ is at the bottom of the page if you want to look up the info
I am not saying that this will be supported, just that it looks probable based on other motherboards in th4e range (similar part numbers). Of course, if you mistyped one character in the part number, the info I have given will NOT refer to the range I looked at. _________________ My graphics card database can be found at http://www.gpuzoo.com.
