Hi,
a couple of weeks ago I won for few euros a huge lot of old IBM boards, within the lot there was four "processor card" and before bidding I asked the seller to send me any info about the cpu and he said that one chip was labelled as "IBM 51 63F7366" so I was sure to get 4 Power RSC cpu but ....

... with a lot of luck these card are all the same cpu but with 3 different revision (and 2 boards still have the FRU label on theme) Smile so with a lot of googling and cross reference checking I was able to identify these boards and chips.

Thanks to the FRU part number on two boards I found that all the boards came from RS6000 7012-320 workstation, based on Power cpu running at 20MHz (Here you can find two reference : http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/systems/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.aix.prftungd/doc/prftungd/deter_cpu_speed.htm and http://www.sdsc.edu/~sherwint/AIXWeb/AIX/Clock_speeds.html), as you can see in IBM docs these are referred as POWER non Power RSC
I've checked again the story of the Power architecture on italian wikipedia and damn there is only reference to Power with 11 chips and single chip (Power RSC) implementation but this boards "have" only 8 chips, but when I checked on english version I found that there was a "cheaper" version called Rios.9 based on a 8-chips implementation with 1 instruction cache chip, 1 fixed-point chip, 1 floating-point chip, 2 data cache chips, 1 storage control chip, 1 input/output chips, and 1 clock chip.
(here is the wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_POWER#POWER_and_RS.2F6000) (Damn I always forget to check English docs before italian ones, I'm too lazy).
So if the boards are based on Rios.9 I should find 2 equal chip and 6 differnt chips. BINGO exactly what I have Smile

These are the complete reference of the boards :

Processor card 1
FRU : 91F1009
Microcode Eprom P/N 91F0996 Copyright 1988/89
Second Eprom P/N 71F0138 Copyright 1990
Main chip IBM 9314 51F2892 PQ
other unknown chips : IBM 14 51F1833ESD, IBM14 51F1835ESD, IBM14 51F1827ESD, IBM14 PQ 63F7534ES
data cache chips (x2) IBM 14 51F1831ESD
clock chip IBM 14 59F3579ESD (I think so because it's near 3 oscillators and it's the only one chip that it's equal in all 4 boards)
plus there are 5 small IBM9314 65X5504ESD (I think these are ram chip with parity)

Processor card 2
FRU : 53F3352
Microcode Eprom P/N 71F0045 Copyright 1990
Second Eprom P/N 71F0138 Copyright 1990
Main chip IBM 51 51F0468 Q
other unknown chips : IBM 5352 37F0770, IBM5352 37F5671, IBM5352 51F0322, IBM5352 63F7524
data cache chips (x2) IBM5352 37F1421
clock chip IBM53 59F3579
5X IBM5370 65X5504ESD

Processor card 3 and Processor card 4
FRU : NONE
Microcode Eprom P/N 02q7184 Copyright 1990
Second Eprom P/N 91F1018 Copyright 1990
Main chip IBM 51 63F7366 (so this is NOT a Power RSC cpu)
other unknown chips : IBM 5352 63F7681, IBM5352 37F5671, IBM53 63F7976, IBM53 63F7532
data cache chips (x2) IBM5352 37F1421
clock chip IBM53 59F3579
5X IBM5370 65X5504ESd

Doccy posted some pics of his RS/6000 station with the same card, I confirm these are POWER1 cards. I'm still looking for one, maybe would you want to trade one? Please PM me with what you're looking for Smile

I'll add them to the IBM part numbers list, and update these ones:

Great searching job!

No, sorry, for now I don't think to sell/trade these boards, maybe I'll sell trade one of board 3 or 4 late this year when I'll finish to move to my new home

Hi,
take a look to this old IBM Journal online article:
http://www.research.ibm.com/journal/rd/341/ibmrd3401D.pdf,
a very detailed description of the POWER CPU. Look at page #14 of the PDF file, there is an annotated diagram of a POWER CPU in the planar version. The card version has the same organization except for the D cache, it isn't implemented as 4 separate chips ("D" in the article) but as a single multichip package, the component with a large heatsink on to the top of your cards.
I confirm, these cards are POWER - 1 CPUs from RS/6000 7012. I have two similar boards.
I hope you will find this link interesting!
P.S.: IBM Journal website is sometime slow... don't worry... but there are lots of valuable technical infos!
