I decided to put 4 brand new Tandem CPUs in mint condition up for auction on CPU-world. Conditions:

* auction will end at 1PM (13:00) East Coast time on Monday, July 16
* the 4 highest bidders will win at their respective prices offered
* there is a reserve
* results will remain anonymous
* I will not reply to questions about progress of auction (e.g. prices)

Also, I do consider trade offers, but only for similarly rare CPUs in excellent condition (older is better).

That would have been another possibility, but it's too late now (offers are coming in).

Also, I know some people are worried about manipulation, but the rules are designed to eliminate that: you send me your offer, I acknowledge the offer, the highest bidders win and pay what they offered. No haggling, no secret negotiations, etc.

That is not what I meant.

The Dutch sale is for the highest four bidders, they all pay the same amount at the minimum price of these four price. think this way is fairer... Smile

Also this is the way that ebay follows when there are multiple items available in one listing.

I agree with you Hugo, that's what I would prefer (and why I no longer participate in PM auctions). But it is Tom's auction and this way maximises his sale price, so buyers know the rules.
