Hi all,
I'm a "new" collector and I'm looking to just collect the CPUs that I've used during my PC-age. I thought it would be a fun idea to have them all and I'm also a keen photographer so I'm sure I'll have fun taking pictures of them too.
As I'm new to this, I'm not sure what conditions chips are generally in but I would like (for photography purposes) chips that are in very good condition (where possible).
I'm also no expert on exact chip models so if I'm looking for something that doesn't exist please let me know. As I'm looking to photograph them, the more detailed the better (e.g. a chip with a logo would be preferred over one without).
Here's what I believe I've used and am looking to buy:
Intel 8088 (got it!)
Intel 80286 – 12Mhz (got it!)
Intel 80386SX – 25Mhz
Intel 80387 - 25Mhz (got it!)
Intel 80486DX – 33Mhz (got it! thanks johnorun)
Intel Pentium – 60Mhz (got it! thanks JAC)
IBM 6x86 P166+ - 166Mhz (got it!)
Intel Pentium II – 266Mhz (got it! thanks johnorun)
Intel Celeron (Pentium II based) – 400Mhz (got it! thanks Neon)
Intel Pentium III – 700Mhz (got it! thanks Neon)
VIA - 1Ghz (got it! thanks hugo929)
Intel Pentium M – 1.6Ghz (got it!)
Athlon XP 2000+ - 1.66Ghz (got it! thanks johnorun)
Intel Pentium 4 - 2.8Ghz (got it!)
1st August 2009:
I just remembered my video gaming past as well:
Atari 2600 (got it!)
NES (got it!)
Super NES (got it!)
Nintendo 64 (got it!)
Nintendo Wii (got it!)
Apologies if some of these aren't collectibles or if this should be in the other WTB forum.
I'm located in Sydney, Australia.
Thanks for your time,
Mark
P.s. this is a great forum BTW, have really enjoyed reading the threads ( and info on the 4004 on Intel's website http://www.intel.com/museum/archives/4004.htm)

Hi Mark,
Welcome to the group!
And beware, the urge to collect won't stop once you acquire these chips...lol _________________ My collection list (growing) http://johnorun.x86-guide.com/en/collection.html |

Welcome. Another member of the 'other side of the pond' crew!
You'll likely find all these chips for sale on here. I've got a sale coming up in a few weeks (plug intended) that has a lot of the older Intels in it.
I think you'll find that when you get the ones from your computing youth, you'll want to collect ones from before your first computer. |

Hi all,
I've updated my list with the ones I have received and a few more are on the way. If there's anything else in the list that you have, please let me know.
I also remembered my video games consoles so have added them to the list (who knows!)
Thanks! |
