CPU upgrade A135-S4656

I am hoping to jump up. I run plugged in and the mobo is a Toshiba K000045820
I've saw that Doitle had good luck with his A135's so I'm hoping for the same.

If there was a comparisson chart in the sticky post I don't know enough to identify it.

I posted what I found because I do not know how to compare cpu's with enough confidence to try one out.

Something new here. According to the CPU World link I provided the CPU I have is a 478 pin Micro-FCPGA
But when I look at Intel's site it tells me this CPU [Intel® Celeron® M Processor 520
(1M Cache, 1.60 GHz, 533 MHz FSB)] is PPGA478.

What's the deal? Anyone know?

The chip I used to find the CPU World specs is the one that came off the broken mobo I took out. Could they be different chips? The used mobo had the same numbers as the broken one.
I left the chip and cooling fan that came on the used mobo since it was already attached and the board was gauranteed to work as is.

It's the same package. When you look to upgrade mobile 478-pin processors always look at the socket, and supported FSB. The reason for this is that Intel had three different "PPGA478" packages, which used different sockets - socket 479, socket M and socket P (it's even more complicated than this but I won't go into details here). Your processor is socket M, so your notebook may work with: Core Solo, Core Duo, early Celeron M, early Pentium Dual-Core mobile, and early Core 2 Mobile. The fastest socket M CPU is Core 2 Duo mobile T7600. If your notebook supports 667 MHz FSB then it may work in your laptop. Otherwise Core Duo T2450 should work for you - it's a dual-core, it has 25% higher core frequency, uses older microarchitecture, and it's not expensive. Before looking at the T2450 see if you notebook supports 667 MHz FSB.

See what chipset is in your laptop. Then you will be able to tell whether it may or may not support 667 MHz FSB. I say "may" because chipset is not the only limiting factor here. BIOS should support it too.

Cr%^P Well My ignorance is exposed once again I can't get the think to post. What do I look for as far as Chipset (looks like intel 945 in graphics) and what FSB the board will support as I think it is only showing what is on the board not what it will support.

Finally I figured out a way to post screenshots.
Now only if Genady comes back to help me choose and help me sort out why the cpu (in my first post) I have from the board I removed (same as used one installed) is coming up as different from the one CPU-z says I have in the used mobo.

I was hoping that Intel utility would better identify their own chipset. It's still not conclusive enough. Here is a support list for 945GM (click on the "compatible products")

You may find exact chipset name if you open your notebook and look at chipset ICs on the board. If your notebook has 940GML then you don't have many upgrade options. Celeron M 530 is a bit faster than the 520, but you won't notice the difference. I still think that you can upgrade to Core Duo T2450, and you should be able to upgrade to Core 2 Duo Mobile T5200 (it has 533 MHz FSB). There is still an issue of BIOS, as it's not known its level support of those dual-core CPUs. I know that T5200 worked in some other notebooks with 940GML chipset, but their BIOS maybe different from yours.

One thing though I was under the impression that since I have a single core I will have to replace with a single core. Is that not true? or does the right BIOS correct for this?
Oh yea this too, Is my FSB limited to 533 by its physical architecture or can I run a larger FSB speed? I think you were saying something on the mobo would indicate the level of FSB support.
