My notebook currently uses a 2 Ghz Pentium P4 Mobile with a 400Mhz FSB and a 478 pin package. Some Centrino Processors come in a 478 pin package, also have a 400 Mhz FSB offering with, I believe, better power management and a 2MB on chip cache instead of a 512KB on chip cache.
Can these 400 Mhz FSB Centrino processors be substituted for the 400 Mhz FSB P4 Mobile CPUs with less cache? |

Intel documentation says Pentium Ms are produced in 478-pin and 479-ball packages.
