i soak the whole chip in Methylated Spirits or as its called here locally... Metho

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denatured_alcohol

the epoxy softens enough to remove gently. You still need to be careful with some print.. the metho wont remove it, but rubbing the print may.

This was an easy one.. just soaked for an hour.
some epoxy is so thick.. it may take a day or 2 to soften enough

What 9000 series is that? The 9300 series comes in a more square package.
Edit: Which would make it a 90xx "Montecito" if my logic serves me right.

a large heat-spreader P90 Nexgen

and as an added bonus.. it came in a near NOS Ref 2 PCI board Smile
