Intel 1701 & 1702 eprom dies

Its unlikely I will ever manage to end up with a Intel 1701 & 1702 eprom, so I thought it best to ask around.

What I am looking for is hi-res pics of dies from marked 1701/C1701 & 1702/C1702 eproms to finally see if the difference between the 2 is visible rather than by testing.

to save you some time I am mainly interested in the decoding circuitry, so I don't require any images of the memory cell area

So the blank eproms that have 1601 on the die could be

C1701 or 1702 without the "C"

could be 1701, C1701, 1702 or C1702

the decoding circuit is supposedly different between 1701 & 1702 but not sure to what extent.
It could be only a few transistors Shocked

here are the 2 packages that the blank eproms with 1601 dies came in

thou package is not a good indication of part number
only C1701, 1702 & C1702 have been found in the left package so far
and only C1701 & C1702 in the right package so far

The 1702 I have is marked 1601 on the die.

Both 1701 & 1702 have dies marked 1601

I was thinking there was a physical difference.. but now I am guessing after testing Intel decided which were to be marked 1701 and which were marked 1702

well I decided to go directly to the source and contact Dov Frohman
this was his response to my question about the difference for the 1601/1701 & 1602/1702 dies

If I remember correctly, the only difference between the 1601 and 1701 is that the first had a sealed lid (to be erased by X-Rays)
and the second had a quartz window (to be erased by UV) with no difference between the die.

Actually within a short period of time and certainly by the end of 1972 only the UV erasable static mode (1702) was sold.
The 1701 and 1702 die are identical, the only difference you may see in high resolution is in the metal interconnection pattern in the decoder area.
