so im a bit tired of this cpu what i have wich is AMD Athlon tf-20 1.6ghz its rly slow when im browsing internet but when im playing some sort of games its just a lil bit laggy but i cant run for example Minecraft .. so i want to upgrade it to at least 2.0/2.4 ghz If its possible of course !
I am not really good with all this and i dont realy know what will be compatible with my laptop but i was searching a bit of net and i found that i cud run AMD V Series V160 2.4 ghz or any AMD socket 1 CPUs , i dont want to pay loads for a cpu , i just want it to run it a bit more smoother! When i bought it i have asked to put +3gb ram so i got 4gb ram right now ..
So please can you give me some kind of advice what type and kind i cud buy it in a range of 50£/70$
thanks! |

Thanks for response and the cpu u gave me is realy cheap and not bad cuz its 2.0ghz but from the site you gave me i see Turion X2 TL-64 wich is 2.2ghz
but Turion X2 TL-66 is 2.3ghz and i find that its in reasonable prize because its only 40pounds/60dollars . so its in a range that i cud pay but cud i actually fit this Turion X2 TL-66 into my laptop without any problems/overheating etc.. ? please respond as fastest you can ! |

It depends if the notebook maker used a cooling system that can prevent overheat with 35W processors (the TF-20 is only 15W of power). If you want to be certain the cooler is sufficient, then find and look in the maintenance manual for your notebook. It will include a list of compatible processors.
Of course, if you can find TL-64 or TL-66 for a good price, then those are even better than TL-60.
EDIT: I found the maintenance manual here:
http://tim.id.au/laptops/acer/emachines%20e627.pdf
The notebook was sold with the Athlon TF-20 and Athlon X2 TK-42 (20W power) processors. So you can be sure the cooler will be good with TK-42; but unsure if the cooler is adequate for the 35W TL- series processors. |
