|
|
Hi,
I want to ask, what is the difference between the types of package for Slot1. The database types are listed:
SEPP Rev. 1
SECC 2.0
SECC 3.0
SECC2 OLGA
SECC2 PLGA
Are there any other? What are the differences between them - how physically know about which type is it?
thanks

Perhaps the SECC 2.0 vs 3.0 specification refers to the change of the backplate on the SECC Pentium II's.
Besides adding the notches for the cache chips on Pentium II's at 350 MHz, intel also extended the metal headspreader down to the bottom of the cartridge, replacing a plastic section present on 233-333 MHz PII's. I'm guessing once the change was made the 233-333 MHz parts produced after that date may have seen some of these larger metal heatspreaders.
Just a guess of course.
*EDIT: Looking at the list of all s-specs for PII's here on cpu-world, even the early PII s-specs are listed as being SECC 3.0. So it's very possible that my guess is wrong. |

...and one more question:
What exactly means "Boxed" CPU in case slot1 CPU?
The heatsink with fan branded as Intel attached to it?
Or maybe heatsink without fan too? Or is it product labeling only and with mounting cooler that has nothing to do? |

"Boxed" is same as Retail version and comes with attached Intel heat-sink & fan
non Boxed or OEM version do not have attached heat-sink and/or fan.. this is put on by the OEM.
They may put on a active heat-sink/fan or put on just a passive heat-sink _________________ There are 10 types of people in this world:
