Hi all,
I have one Tandem chip. Does anyone know what it is?
It does not look like the Tandem cpu. Will it be the supporting chip?

Thank you for the link but the pin and the cap is difference so I can't sure it is cpu. |

I have searched with "AMD AM46177AKC" but seemed no useful information provided in internet. |

Seeing Tandem was using MIPS processors & support processors.. i would try and match pinout to one of them

I also notice that Tandem CPU has two "V" on the left upper corner on front and right upper corner on back. I guess V= VLSI.
This chip have the letter "H" on both side. I don't know what it means. |

Hello,
it's a system bus controller for a Tandem Himalaya Nonstop server (R4400 fault tolerant machine).
Manufactured by AMD - likely a gate array or something similar.
