| Can somebody explain the purpose of the tiny die next to the main one on some of the EPROMS. Even stranger is that some 2708's have this and some don't. |

The only thing I have noticed about it is that the ones that have that little cube in them dont have external ground straps. Even the 2716 has a cube in it without an external strap. But I dont know if thats what it is for sure or not, maybe some kind of internal grounding thru the leg. _________________ "The only reason for time is so that everything doesn't happen at once." all have a grounding wire, but they must of decided bonding to a piece of etched die was better than direct to die bonding surface
