This laptop should also be able to run Windows NT4 and IE4. so you could surf the net with it easy enough.

Probably some other browsers that would work too.

Or you could run a port of Linux on it for Alpha, and maybe run a more modern browser.

AlphaBIOS is needed for Windows afaik and I wonder if it is still possible to download it? srm console is suitable for Unix-like systems (OpenVMS, Linux, Netbsd, OpenBSD and maybe old FreeBSD release, don't know about tru64 unix). I would love to have it but probably this item will cost to much for me.

$800 will buy you a decent laptop these days, or a rare Alpha one Smile

Yes, there was AlphaBIOS for Alphabook. I even saw website from google archive where you could download it. Unfortunately I can't find it one week later anymore. Google search sometimes works strangely. The price is unexpected to me Smile. If you want Alpha, some AlphaPC motherboard is the cheapest solution right now probably.

One sold last year for $1362

http://www.ebay.com/itm/270792516802

That one was missing some minor items. Mine is complete. The only way it could be any better is if a wormhole opened in time and sucked in a shrink-wrapped never used one.
