This laptop should also be able to run Windows NT4 and IE4. so you could surf the net with it easy enough.
Probably some other browsers that would work too. _________________ New for 2025! The CPU Shack has a co-processor!

| Or you could run a port of Linux on it for Alpha, and maybe run a more modern browser. |

AlphaBIOS is needed for Windows afaik and I wonder if it is still possible to download it? srm console is suitable for Unix-like systems (OpenVMS, Linux, Netbsd, OpenBSD and maybe old FreeBSD release, don't know about tru64 unix). I would love to have it but probably this item will cost to much for me. _________________ http://picasaweb.google.com/vezhlys/CPUsCollection |

Yes, there was AlphaBIOS for Alphabook. I even saw website from google archive where you could download it. Unfortunately I can't find it one week later anymore. Google search sometimes works strangely. The price is unexpected to me . If you want Alpha, some AlphaPC motherboard is the cheapest solution right now probably. _________________ http://picasaweb.google.com/vezhlys/CPUsCollection |

One sold last year for $1362
http://www.ebay.com/itm/270792516802
That one was missing some minor items. Mine is complete. The only way it could be any better is if a wormhole opened in time and sucked in a shrink-wrapped never used one. |
